Creating sub categories
Depending on your website you may have the ability to create product sub categories or product sub pages. This is feature is especially great if you have your own product line and want to label it appropriately on your website.
Follow this documentation to learn how to create sub categories.
For this example we will create another sub category underneath Lighting.
First, you need to login to your Magento admin panel.
Next, you will navigate to Catalog > Categories
Now, click on the Lighting category and click the button above that says Add Subcategory
Next, name your category.
Now you can click the orange Save button and your new subcategory should be added. If you don’t see the new category after refreshing the page, make sure to clear your cache.
Your new product subcategory is now visible on your site. You can go back to the admin subcategory to add content, images, and add specific products to this new category.
